1. Hike, hike, hike

The Stubaital is a true hiking paradise. An extensive network of trails winds through the impressive Stubai Alps, and regardless of your fitness level and experience, you'll find the right hiking route here. From idyllic valleys and breathtaking panoramic views to lush green mountain meadows Stubai offers a wealth of natural beauty 🗻🚡🥾

Whether you like the view at the 12 different natural scenes, enjoy hiking on easy routes at medium altitudes, explore our popular Wilde Wasser Weg, or take part in the challenging routes to the peaks of the Seven Summits. Try it - the choice of hiking options is almost endless.

On the website of the Stubai Tourism Association you will find plenty of inspiration for hiking. If you need a specific hiking tip or information, just text to us on WhatsApp and we will be happy to help you.

TANDEM STUBAI tip 💡 Hike to the 9 fascinating mountain lakes of the Stubaital: Mutterberger See, Grünausee, Freiger See, Blaue Lacke, Schlicker See, Rinnensee, Alfaier See, Falbesoner See and Turmferner See are waiting to be explored by you. And if you're not sensitive to the cold, we recommend jumping into the crystal clear water! 💦🏔️

2. Walk and relax around Klaus Äuele

If you're still tired from your last hike or just want to go for a relaxing walk, Klaus Äuele in the rear Stubaital is the right place. You can also find a huge adventure playground for the little ones among us, but it is also a place to feel good for the adults ☀️💧🌲

Where you can find numerous kilometers of cross-country ski trails in winter, there are several walking paths in Klaus Äuele in summer. You can take a loop trail to the Doadler-Alm or dip your feet in the cold water of the Ruetz, the river in the Stubaital. Do you have a slackline or a hammock with you? Perfect, just string it up between the numerous trees there and enjoy a cozy day with the best view in Klaus Äuele!

3. Discover the world from above - Tandem Paragliding in Stubai

Of course in this list of activities Tandem paragliding with TANDEM STUBAI simply can not be missing. For all adventure seekers who want to get out of their comfort zone, want to fulfill a long-cherished dream, or just feel the freedom and thrill of flying, we offer tandem paragliding flights. Flying is for us pilots something so special that we don't want others to miss out on 🪂

Glide with us over the breathtaking peaks of the Stubai Alps and experience the world from a whole new perspective. We ensure that you will have a safe flight experience which will remain in your memories forever. Treat yourself to this unique adventure and let yourself be inspired by the magic of flying 🧚‍♀️✨🌈

4. Suspension bridge on Sunnseit'n Weg

Okay, strictly speaking this is a short hike and therefore falls under point 1, but we think this in spring 2024 newly opened suspension bridge in Stubai definitely deserves its own point! It is the first suspension bridge in the Stubaital and connects the towns of Pfurtschell and Kartnall on the sunny side of the valley. A new viewing platform was also built slightly above the suspension bridge with a spectacular view of Neustift 🙌

By the way – during a tandem flight with us from the opposite mountain (Elfer) you can even look at the suspension bridge from above and fly over the hikers like a bird! They will wave at you and probably be full of envy 😉

5. Via ferrata to the summit

Via Ferratas are secured climbing routes in the mountains that are equipped with wire ropes, ladders, clamps and other aids. You need no special climbing skills – it's like an adventure playground in the mountains. However, you must be absolutely sure-footed and not afraid of heights, as many Via Ferratas are exposed and require a lot of skill and concentration. In Stubai we have various Via Ferrata routes, you will find something for every skill level 🧗⛰️

For all advanced mountaineers among you, we recommend the Via Ferrata on the Elfer north face with difficulty level C (with one passage in D). It is a very beautiful Via Ferrata route on Neustift's local mountain and at the end you will be rewarded with a magnificent view over the entire Stubaital! In addition, this Via Ferrata is ideal to combine with the beautiful Elferkofel Via Ferrata.

TANDEM STUBAI tip 💡 For everyone who is looking for the ultimate adrenaline kick or simply has no time to waste: in one day you can do a Hike & Via Ferrata & Fly on the Elfer in Stubai. After descending from the Via Ferrata, we will take you straight from the mountain station into the valley 🪂

6. Summer toboggan run in Mieders

Yes, also the steepest summer toboggan run of the Alps has its home in Stubai valley! Over a distance of 2,8 kilometers you race down into the valley while killing 640 vertical meters and reaching speeds of up to 42 km/h. You can either reach the entrance to the summer toboggan run with gondola or hike up to the mountain station of the Serlesbahnen.

7. Slow down at the Grawa waterfall

The Grawa waterfall is not only an impressive activity in Stubai but can also be a positive influence on your health. The finely atomized aerosols and negative air ions that it produces can help clean your respiratory tract and even help with various health problems such as asthma, allergies and stress.

Each waterfall has its own specific effects, and Grawa Waterfall is particularly known for its cleansing effects. A stay at the Grawa Waterfall can have a positive effect on your breathing quality and increase your general well-being while you enjoy the beauty of nature 👀🌲✨

Directly in front of the Grawa waterfall a large platform with loungers and benches was built, so you can relax in front of the mighty waterfall and let the positive effects work on you. And if you still want to move afterwards - the Grawa waterfall is also a great starting point for the hike to the Sulzenau-Alm and Sulzenau-Hütte not far from the Blaue Lacke (one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Stubai, in our opinion!).

We hope these 7 activities in Stubai inspire you to explore the diverse possibilities our “Hoamat” offers to discover and experience unforgettable adventures. No matter whether you storm the peaks, let yourself be enchanted by the clear mountain lakes or take to the skies with us on a tandem flight – Stubaital definitely has something to offer for everyone!
